Register entries

The Authority’s Members' Code of Conduct requires all Authority Members and voting co-opted Members on Authority committees to complete a Register of certain pecuniary interests as specified in the Code.

What information should be included in the register?

The types of matters which must be registered by Members are listed below. Full details are contained in the Code.

A pecuniary interest is a "disclosable pecuniary interest" if it is of a description specified in regulations, ie:-

  • employment, office, trade, profession or vocation (for profit or gain);
  • sponsorship;
  • contracts;
  • land;
  • licenses;
  • corporate tenancies;
  • securities;

and either it is the Member's interest or an interest of the Member's spouse or civil partner or a person with whom the Member is living with as such and the Member is aware that that other person has the interest.

Members must keep their registration of interests' forms under review and notify the Monitoring Officer of any changes within 28 days.

Sensitive information need not be included in the Register, with the agreement of the Authority’s Monitoring Officer.

The Register is maintained by the Monitoring Officer and is open to public inspection at County Hall, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, during office hours. If you would like to inspect the Register, please contact the Monitoring Officer at:

Please note that:

  • when a Member amends his/her entry in the Register, there may be a short delay before the updated form is uploaded onto the website;
  • Members' signatures have been redacted from the electronic forms. Where a Member has signed the 'Name' section of the form, that signature has also been redacted.
