This section gives information on the calls and incidents that the Service has attended, along with our Performance Indicators.  Our incidents fall into the following groups; fire, special service, false alarms.


Primary Fire - includes all fires in buildings, vehicles and most outdoor structures or any fire involving casualties, rescues or fires attended by five or more fire engine.

Secondary fires- these are smaller fires, like grass, bin or rubbish fires

Special Service

These are non-fire incidents and include things like road traffic collision,  people locked in or out, lift rescues etc.

False Alarms

Malicious False Alarms - this is when people deliberately call about false or fictitious incidents

Good Intent False Alarms - calls made in good faith in the belief that there is an incident.

False Alarm due to Apparatus - when an automated fire alarm (AFA) goes off (in non-domestic premises), but there is no actual fire
