Investors in People

Investors In People is a national standard of action and excellence used in the UK. It outlines good practice for improving an organisation’s performance through its people with the use of training. In order to achieve this award, organisations must demonstrate:

• Commitment to investing in the training and development of its staff to achieve business objectives.
• Plans to develop the skills of individuals and teams in order to achieve corporate objectives.
• A process of evaluation of the progress that has been achieved, the determination of new values and the assessment of future needs.

IIP exists to raise the standards of training and development within an organisation to improve productivity and achieve corporate objectives.

As a council we are proud to have obtained the IIP certificate and will go on developing the skills of our staff by continuing to offer a wide range of training so that future organisational goals can be achieved.
