Bridge Project

Bridge event days have been held at Ripon, Settle and Skipton. This project is designed to cover topics such as fire safety, road safety, the dangers of hoax calls and arson, plus other skills such as team work, respect and discipline/routine. Some days are tailored with extra input on health and safety.

Some of the Bridge Project days were held for Harrogate College for students that were taking vocational qualifications in building and engineering trades and were a great success. Other Bridge Project days have been held for child fire setters that had been referred to NYF&RS. A great response was received from these days and to our knowledge there has been no more fires set and one of the students is now enrolled in the young fire fighters.

In total 76 students have gone through the scheme in conjunction with Ripon college, Ripon Grammar school, Nidderdale high and Boroughbridge and Harrogate College.
