Crucial Crew

Crucial Crew is a multi- agency event supported by the Fire Service, the Police, the Ambulance Service, Her Majesty’s Prison Service, Victim Support, Drugs awareness, School Nurses and the National Trust.  They aim to raise awareness of safety issues to school children in Year 6 (aged 10/ 11).

At Crucial Crew the events take the form of interactive scenarios.  In each scenario the children have the opportunity to gain ‘hands on’ experience in what to do in a fire, how to make an emergency call, how to do basic first etc.

Crucial Crew runs in Scarborough, Skipton, Selby, Hambleton, York and Harrogate for 12 weeks of the year in total.  Each week sees between 750and a 1000 children receive this important safety information, and the events are co-ordinated by the Community Education Officer.
