Ice Warning as Temperatures Drop

As temperatures continue to dip, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are warning people of the dangers of playing on frozen lakes and ponds.

|The call comes following an incident at Newstead Park in Stoke-on-Trent at 4.30pm on Sunday in which some teenagers were playing on a frozen lake and one fell through the ice. The male managed to get to safety on an island in the middle of the lake; he was then rescued by Longton Firefighters using a ladder.
