Incident Summary Wednesday 18th July Day Shift

07:36 Barbers Drive, York
Crews attended this incident which turned out to be false alarm caused by an overheated burglar alarm

07:43 Harper Street, Selby
A crew from Snaith attented a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by a system fault.

08:21 Ferrensby
A crew from Harrogate and a crew from Knareborough attended a fire of approximately 3mx2m of  rubble and general building waste on fire. The crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The cause is unkown.

09:03 Sherburn in Elemet
A crew from Tadcaster attended a rubbish fire of approximately 1 square metre. They used a knapsack sprayer and bucket of water. The cause is believed to be deliberate

11:00 Easingwold
A crew from Easingwold and one from Acomb attended reports of a house fire. On arrival they discovered this was a pan of eggs left unattended. There was fire damage to the eggs only anf minor smoke damage to the kitchen. Crews used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera.

11:41 Franline Road, Harrogate
A Harrogate crew attended an alarm sounding. This was a false alarm.

12:17 Tinker Lane, York
Crews from Acomb attended reports of fire to a 10 ton digger. Crews used a hose reel, thermal imaging camera and small tools. The fire caused damage to the engine compartment only and the cause is believed to be an acculation of flammable materials.

12:25 Glaisdale
Crews from Danby and Whitby attended reports of a fire in the open. This was controlled burning and no action was needed from the Fire Service.

12:28 Filey
Crews from Filey and Scarborough attended a collision involving a stock car on a grass track. One person was trapped in the vehicle and crews used cutting gear to release them. They were released at around 13:25 and handed over to the care of paramedics with believed non serious injuries, and then transported to hospital by air ambulance. 

12:42 Westborough, Scarborough
A crew from Robin Hood's Bay attended an incident involving a bin on fire. The fire was out on arrival of crews, as a passing bus driver had used a extinguisher on it. No action required from fire service.

15:10 Blake Street, York
A number of crews and an aerial ladder platform attended reports of a fire in a 3 storey building. On their arrival they found the building smoke logged. Crews investigated to find the cause of the smoke which was trached to a eletrical light fitting, which resulted in a small amount of fire damage to wiring. CRews had left the scene by 5pm.

16:02 Bachelor Hill, York
A crew from Easingwold attended an incident involing grass on fire. They used beaters and knapsack sprayers to exxtinguish the fire. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

16:04 Waterside, Knaresborough
Crews from Knaresborough and Summerbridge attended reports of someone in the river. Crews used a rowing boat to locate the individual and bring them to shore. The indvidual was taken to hospital suffering cuts and other injuries.

17:19 Burton Stone Lane, York
A crew attended reports of a small fire in the open. On their arrival the fire had been extinguished by a local resident using a hose pipe. Cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
