Incident Summary Sunday 24th June Day Shift

24th June 2018

08:03 Silver Street, Knaresborough
A crew from Knareborough attended flooding into a property. They used small tools to isolate water supply after a main inlet ruptured causing waer to flood cellars and affect electrics. The incident was left with the property manager and advice given

09:40 York Designer Outlet
A crew from York attended reports of a car on fire. This was a false alarm casued by steam from a radiator.

09:45 Quarry Moor Lane, Ripon
A crew from Ripon attended a fire to a felled tree which it is believed had been set on fire by youths. Crews used a knapsack sprayer.

10:28 Main Street, Malton
Crews from Malton attended a fire to a cottage. The fire started in the kitchen due to items being left on top of a cooker, and caused 50% fire damage to items that caught fire, 5% damage to some units and 50% smoke damage to the kitchen. A neighbour had entered the property and rescued a dog and removed the items that had caught fire. The neighbour then used a garden hose to put the fire to those items out. Crews turned the cooker off on their arrival and used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke. They also adminsitered oxygen to the neighbour and the dog as a precaution.

10:54 Chedlwood Walk, York
A crew from Acomb attended this incident which involved a person trapped in a garage. Crews used a triple extension ladder to gain entry to rescue the individual who was then handed over to the ambulance service.

11:59 Summerbridge
A Harrogate crew attended a fire to approximately 2500sqm of cut grass. They used hose reels to extinguish the fire which was caused by controlled burning that got out of control.

13:13 Hookstone Wood Road, Harrogate
A crew attended a small fire in the open beleived to have been caused by a discarded BBQ. The crew used their boots and a bucket to put the fire out.

13:26 A1 Junction 49
A crew from Ripon attended reports of a single car road traffic collision, involving a vehicle which had left the road and hit some trees. Crews provided first aid to the driver who was out of the vehicle on the crews arrival.

13:50 Pond View, Selby
Crews attended a fire to polystyrene wrapping inside a garage of a property. A hose reel and a shovel was used, and the incident was left with the Police as it may have been started deliberately.

14:26 Cromer Street, York
Two crews attended reports of a property fire. This was fire to fat in a grill pan and was out on the crews arrival. They gave advice only

14:38 Granby Road, Harrogate
A Harrogate crew attened 1x2m grassland fire, and used a hose reel to put the fire out. The cause is beleived to be a dropped light

16:57 Escrick Street, York
A crew from York attended wood and dry grass on fire. Members of the public had tried to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher prior to the fire crews arrival. Crews used a hose reel jet to put the fire out. It is believed to have been started deliberately.
