Flooding on A1

7th October 2015

Time of call: 10:31 am

Location: A1 northbound Catterick

Crews were called to reports of flooding on the A1 near to Catterick. Our High Volume Pump from Richmond fire station was sent to the scene.

Fire crews are working alongside Highways England (Highways Agency) to assist with pumping flood water off the motorway.

1pm update- Both the fire service and the Highways England are using pumps to move the water from the roadway into the River Swale.

Fire crews expect to be at the scene for some time.
