Barn Fire - Bedale Road, Aiskew

1st March 2015

Location: Bedale Road, Aiskew

Time: 1750 hours

Fire engines from Bedale and Northallerton have been mobilised to reports of a barn on fire on Bedale Road in Aiskew.

They arrived on scene at 1759 hours to discover a large barn, approximately 50ft by 50ft, on fire. Approximately 60 cattle had been evacuated prior to Fire Service arrival.

At 1800 hours a further 4 appliances were requested and these were mobilised from Masham, Northallerton, Richmond and Colburn. A water bowser from Boroughbridge was also mobilised.

At 1829 hours a further 2 appliances were requested along with a high volume pump.  These resources were mobilised from Stokesley, Ripon and Harrogate.

Various support officers are also in attendance.

Crews currently have a number of hosereels in use.

2110 hrs Update - Incident is being scaled down to 6 appliances, High volume pump and crews from Harrogate released from incident at 1953, appliances from Ripon and Stokesley have been released from incident at 2110.  4 hose reel jets in use, further updates to follow. 

2358 hrs Update - Incident is being scaled down to 3 appliances. Crews from Northallerton (Retained) and Masham released from incident at 2221 and 2356 respectively. Fire being allowed to burn out under supervision. Further updates to follow.

0503 hrs 02/03/2015 Update - This incident has been scaled down to 2 appliances, Harrogate and Ripon.  These crews will remain on scene keeping a watching brief until daylight when Fire Investigation Officers will revisit the scene.
