12th February 2015

Time of call: 01:43

Location: The Old Manor School, Low Poppleton Lane, Acomb.

Fire crews attended reports of a building fire and on arrival 'made pumps five' (requested further fire engines attend) as the building was well alight. Fire Service Crews from York, Acomb, Huntington, Selby and two fire officers all attended the incident involving the two storey building which measured 100m x 50m.

The aerial ladder platform from Huntington was used as a water tower along with two large jets, two hose reel jets and four breathing appartatus.

Fire investigation Officers are due to re-attend in daylight to carry out an investiagtion.
