Incident Summary – Day Shift Sunday 18th September

Peasholm Gap, Scarborough

Scarborough crew sent after a report of an alarm activation in a residential building. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a system fault.

Heworth Road, York

 Huntington crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a system fault.

Overdale, Eastfield, Scarborough

Crews called to a residential property after reports of smoke issuing from a property. On arrival, crews dealt with a fire in a kitchen. Crews used two hose reels to extinguish the fire. No persons involved, everyone out of property at time of fire.

Hull Road, Cliffe, Selby

Selby crews attended a residential property after a report of a possible house fire. On arrival, crews found a small amount of smoke to be issuing from kitchen, after an oven had been turned on accidently. Crews cleared the smoke from the property using a ventilation fan. No persons involved.

Alne, nr Easingwold

Easingwold crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.

Wold Lane, Staxton, Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended a road traffic collision. Scarborough crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of a vehicle to enable paramedics safe access to male driver, trapped in vehicle by injuries.

Milby, Boroughbridge area

Boroughbridge and Ripon crews attended and dealt with a fire in a grain dryer. Crews removed side of dryer to expose main seat of fire. Crews then used one hose reel and shovels to separate and extinguish the fire. Cause believed to be due to overheating.

Leeman Road, York

York and Acomb crews attended a three vehicle road traffic collision. One female trapped, released from vehicle by fire and rescue crews using manpower. Left in care of paramedics, all other occupants/drivers out on arrival of fire service personnel.

Rainbow Lane, Malton

Crew attended and dealt with a car fire. Extinguished using one hose reel. Vehicle completely destroyed by fire. Incident left with Police as cause believed deliberate.
