Incident Summary Day Shift Monday 30th January

A59, Upper Poppleton TOC: 07:41

Crews from Acomb, Huntington, York and Tadcaster were mobilised to a report of a tanker leaking milk into the drains. Crews isolated the leak from a loose nut on a valve head using small tools, and diluted and swilled away the milk.

Stepney Road, Scarborough TOC: 14:03

A late fire call was received to inform us that an e-cigarette had exploded in a persons bag. The person suffered fingertip whilst removing the e-cigarette from the bag. A fire officer attended to investigate.

King Street, Muston TOC: 14:08

Crews from Scarborough and Filey were mobilised to a report of a car on fire in a workshop. Crews extinguished car, which had been removed from workshop prior to arrival, using 2 hose reels and 2 breathing apparatus. 1 person suffered burns to hands, and were taken to hospital by ambulance crew. Cause is believed to ba an electrical fault in engine.
