Fire in Cafe - Robin Hoods Bay

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service were alerted to a fire in a cafe at Robin Hoods Bay at 18:56.

Fire engines from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay attended the incident and located a fire to a fridge within the ground floor property.

The fire had caused 70% fire damage to fridge and 10% fire damage to remainder of the room. The fire caused approx 100% smoke damage to the room and 50% smoke damage to the flat above.

Crews used 1 hose reel jet, 2 breathing apparatus, thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation fan.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
