Fire in Fish and Chip Shop - Knaresborough

Location:  Silver Street, Knaresborough

At 1333 hours the Fire Service were called to a fire in a Fish and Chip shop on Silver Street in Knaresborough.  Fire Crews from Knaresborough Fire Station attended.  The incident involved a fire at the back of the deep fat fryer. Crews used a dry powder extinguisher to deal with the fire.  The fire caused approximately 6 feet of fire damage to electric cabling and 20% smoke damage to the cooking appliance and 5% smoke damage to the chip shop. The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault.
