Incident Summary Thursday 5th July Day Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Thursday 5th July Day Shift

Swinsty Reservoir  Time 09:38

A crew from Harrogate extinguished a tree stump that was on fire after a disposable BBQ was left on it. One knapsack sprayer and a bucket of water was used.

Ripon  Time 11:31

Crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge went to reports of a fire to a garage. Crews found a garage that was on fire with the fire spreading to a neighbouring garage. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Both buildings and their contents have been damaged by the fire. Crews used 45mm jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Hambleton, Thirsk  Time 12:03

A crew from Northallerton extinguished a fire that had spread from a controlled burn to an embankment by a road. This was a small fire that the crew was able to extinguish using a hose reel jet.

A1(M) Leeming to Caterick  Time 12:41

The tyre of a Ford Iveco was on fire near to junction 52 on the northbound carriageway. Crews from Bedale, Northallerton and Leyburn attended making the area safe and extinguishing the fire. 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera was used.

Wainmans Pinnacle, Cowling  Time 13:09

Our Skipton crew extinguished a fire on the moorlands measuring one square metre using knapsack sprayer and beaters. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

Weatherby Road, Harrogate  Time 13:42

Crews from Knaresborough and Harrogate extinguished a fire to a car that had ignited after the driver started up the engine. The vehicle was 100% fire damaged. Crews used a hose reel jet, breathing apparatus and a thermal image camera to ensure the fire was out.

Portholme Road, Selby  Time 14:24

A van was on fire on Portholme Road. It is believed that an air compressor had overheated in the van. Crews from Selby arrived and extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets a main jet, breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras.

Ellers Road, Sutton-in-Craven  Time 15:46

A fire was seen near the beck off of Ellers Road. The fire is in woodland measuring approximately two metre squared. Our Skipton crew extinguished the fire using a knapsack sprayer and shovels.
