Line Side Fire at Levisham on the North York Moors Railway

Crews from Pickering and Kirbymoorside were called to reports of a lineside fire on the North York Moors Railway near to Levisham Station.  On arrival they requested assistance for two more fire engines from Whitby and Malton for manpower and water. 

Approximately 9,000 square metres of undergrowth is involved and crews are using 2 jets, 1 hosereel and 4 knapsack sprayers.  Good progress is being made damping down hotspots.
