Fire on Strensall Common - Strensall

Location:  Strensall Common, Strensall

At 1807 hours the Fire Service were called to smoke in the area of Strensall Common.  Fire Crews from Huntington, York and Acomb Fire Station and an Argocat from Kirkbymoorside attended.  The fire involved approximately 1500 square metres of grassland on fire.  Crews used a light portable pump, 1 jet, beaters and knapsack sprayers use to extinguish the fire.  The cause of the fire is unknown and crews will revisit the area tomorrow morning.
