Fish Shop Fire, New Earswick

Crews from Acomb, York and Huntington were mobilised with the Aerial Lader Platform from Huntington to reports of a fryer on fire in a fish shop on Hawthorn Terrace Central in New Earswick.

Upon arrival crews found that the fire had been extinguished using a CO2 extinguisher and a fire blanket. Firefighters used positive pressure ventilation fans to ventilate he property and carried out a safety inspection. The fire had been caused by overheated oil.
