Flat Fire - Suttons, Keighley

Location:  The Crofts, Sutton, Keighley

The Fire Service were called to a fire in a ground floor and hallway of a two storey flat complex.  Two Fire Engines from Skipton Fire Station attended.  Fire Crews led the male in his 50s to safety.  The fire caused 70% severe fire damage to the hallway and stairs.  50% severe smoke damage to the first floor flat and 20% light smoke damage to a neighbouring flat.  Fire Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels, thermal imaging camera, positive pressure ventilation fan, small tools and lighting to deal with the fire.  Smoke alarms were fitted and did actuate.  The cause of the fire is being investigated by a Fire Investigation Officer.
