Flat Fire - Topcliffe Road, Sowerby

Location:  Topcliffe Road, Sowerby

At 1452 hours the Fire Service were called to a fire in a three storey building.  Fire Crews from Thirsk and Northallerton attended.  Upon arrival crews found a fire involving a cooker.  The fire caused 5% fire damage to the grill pan and hob.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and  1 hose reel to deal with the fire.  The flat was heavily smoke logged so a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to ventilate the property.  A male occupant suffered burns to his hand, he was treated at the scene by paramedics.
