Fire crews from Scarborough and Filey have been called to reports of a fire in a ground floor bedsit at a converted property on Prince of Wales Terrace in Scarborough.

Approximately 20 other residents in the building at the time were evacuated and uninjured.

Fire crews have used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to deal with the incident.

The cause of the fire is still being ascertained.
