Flat Fire - York

Location:  Foston Grove, York

Crews from York and Huntington were mobilised to reports of a kitchen fire on Foston Grove in York.  Crews assisted 2 occupants from within the flat to a place of safety outside and both were checked over by paramedics before being transported to hospital suffering smoke inhalation.  The cause of the fire is believed to be an unattended chip pan which caused 25% fire damage to the kitchen along with 75% smoke damage to the kitchen and 50% smoke damage to the rest of the property. 

Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 triple extension ladders, 1 hose real jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire and then ventilate the property.
