Weather related Incidents

Various locations in North Yorkshire

Between 1800hrs and 2300hrs fire crews from Tadcaster, Selby, Harrogate, York, Knaresborough, Settle, Easingwold and Huntington attended 35 reports of flooding to properties due to flash storms.

The majority of the incidents were in the south of the county, affecting Tadcaster and the Tockwith area of York, with isolated incidents of flooding in Settle, Bedale and Easingwold.

Fire crews also attended 2 reports of lightning strikes to properties, one in Dishforth and Boroughbridge, fire crews from Ripon, Thirsk and Knaresborough attended these and carried out inspections to ensure there was no fire damage to the properties.

Fire crews also attended 9 automatic fire alarms at various locations that had been activated due to power cuts and rain caused by the storms
