House fire - Broughton Road, Skipton

Location: Broughton Road, Skipton  

Time: 1633 hours  

Two fire engines from Skipton have been called to deal with a house fire at a domestic property on Broughton Road in the town.

On arriving at the semi detached property, they discovered a fire involving a fuse box in the kitchen which had spread and also caused damage to the attic space. The whole of the property suffered smoke damage.

Crews have used breathing apparatus, hosereels, thermal imaging cameras, ladders and various hand tools to tackle this blaze.

Smoke detectors were fitted in the property but batteries had been removed.

The cause of this incident is believed to be accidental.
