House Fire - Nelson Street, Scarborough

Location:  Nelson Street, Scarborough 

Time: 1541 hours 

Fire engines from Scarborough and Filey and the aerial ladder platform from Scarborough have been called to reports of a fire on the 2nd floor of a residential property in Nelson Street in the town.

The incident involved a bed settee on fire in a 2nd floor bedroom.  This has caused fire damage to the bed settee, heat damage to the bedroom and smoke damage to the 2nd floor landing, stairwell and another bedroom.

There were no smoke detectors fitted in the property.

Fire crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereels, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal imaging camera.
