Incident Summary Night Shift Monday 10th July

Kings Road, Harrogate

 TOC: 18:22

 Crews from Harrogate were called to reports of a smoke alarm sounding in a domestic property. The cause of the alarm was believed to be dust in the detector head.

 Forestry near Nidd Railway Viaduct

 TOC: 19:36

 A crew from Harrogate were called to reports of a fallen tree on fire within woodland. Crews extinguished the fire using wild fire back packs and beaters, the cause of the fire is believed to of been deliberate.

 Norwood Plantation, Norwood

 TOC: 20:12

Crews from Harrogate and Summerbridge attended reports of a derelict caravan and storage hut on fire. The fire had caused 100% damage to caravan and hut. Crews used beaters on smouldering remains. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

Elvington Airfield, Elvington, York

TOC: 21:09

A crew from York attended a commercial premises on the airfield who had a fire alarm sounding. The crews attending discovered the alarm was sounding due to a fault on the system.

Little Ayton Lane, Great Ayton

TOC: 21:49

A crew from Stokesley were called to reports of a hay bale on fire. Crews extinguished one small pile of hay on fire. The cause is believed to of been controlled burning left unattended.

Belmont Road, Harrogate

TOC: 22:14

A crew from Harrogate attended a residential hostel on Belmont Road as the fire alarm was sounding. On arrival crews discovered the alarm was sounding due to cooking fumes.

Kensington Street, York

TOC: 23:10

A crew from York were called to reports of a fire in a rear garden. On arrival the crews discovered a brick built shed on fire. Crews used one hose reel, thermal imaging camera and lighting to extinguish. Approximately 80% fire damage caused to shed and the cause of the fire is believed to of been accidental.

11th  JULY

Eden Close, York

TOC: 00:47

A crew from Acomb attended reports of a fence on fire between two properties. Crews extinguished the fire to the fence and wheelie bin using one hose reel. The cause of the fire is believed to be hot barbecue coal placed in to the wheelie bin.

Swan Road, Harrogate

TOC: 03:22

Both Harrogate crews attended a RTC at request of Police who were in attendance and believed the car was on fire. No car fire, though the car was on it’s roof after it collided with a parked car. No persons trapped, all 5 young occupants were out of car on Brigade arrival. Firecrews righted car, made safe, and moved car to side of road at Police request.

North Marine Road, Scarborough

TOC: 04:18

Both Scarborough firecrews responded to a fire alarm activation caused by a faulty detector head in a hotel.
