Incident summary - Night shift Saturday 8th September

9th September 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Kilgram Lane, Jervaulx  - Time of call 02:13


Fire crews from Leyburn and Masham responded to reports of a barn fire. On arrival crews confirmed a barn containing 330 bales of straw was well alight. Assistance from Richmond, Ripon and a Water Bowser crew was requested. Cause of fire is believed to be deliberate. Crews used 2 main jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

In addition to above NYFRS attended several smoke alarm activations in Scarborough, Harrogate and York – all of which were false alarms
