Incident Summary - Day shift Friday 12th October

11th October 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

The Village, Haxby, York - Time of call 10:17

Fire crews from York and Huntington responded to reports of a fire in a fuse box. Crews confirmed fire involved front bay window and was caused by maintenance staff using a blow torch. Crews extinguished fire using one hose reel and one dry powder extinguisher

The Glade, York - Time of call 10:48

York and Acomb fire crews attended a washing machine on fire in a domestic property. Fire was caused by an electrical fault. Crews used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to extinguish fire.

Chapel Haddlesey, Selby - Time of call 13:03

Fire crews from Selby, Tadcaster and appliances from West Yorkshire and Humberside attended a fire involving a domestic garage. This incident has been scaled down but is still ongoing

Incident update- This incident involved a fire to a garage containing an acetylene cylinder. Crews extinguished the fire using hose reel jets and main jets, and dampened down the cylinders. The fire caused 100% fire damage to the garage. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

Granby Park, Harrogate - Time of call 13:41

Harrogate fire crews responded to reports of fire in a kitchen of a residential premises. On arrival crews confirmed fire was out on arrival and involved the plastic base of a kettle left on a hob. No action needed by Fire Service

 

Rievaux Helmsley - Time of call 15:47

Fire crews from Helmsley responded to a single vehicle traffic collision, no persons were trapped; crews assisted Police and Ambulance at the scene.

 

Swainby - Time of call 15:46

Northallerton crews responded to reports of a fallen branch suspended on a power line. Crews liaised with Northern Power Grid.

 

Riccall, Selby - Time of call 16:15

Acomb attended a bonfire in a garden, crew’s extinguished fire using a hose reel.

 

In addition to this North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue crews attended several smoke alarm activations. These were all false alarms.
