Incident Summary – Day Shift – Friday 07th December

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

 

 

 

 

Automatic Fire Alarm – Bogs Lane, Harrogate

 

Time of call: 0828

 

An appliance from Harrogate attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential building, this was a false alarm caused by a faulty detector head.

 

 

 

Dangerous Structure – Broomfield Terrace, Whitby

 

Time of call: 0902

 

Whitby attended an incident where a male casualty had fallen from height and gone through some railings. Crew made the scene safe by cordoning it off and the casualty was left in the hands of paramedics.

 

 

 

Single Vehicle RTC – Summerbridge

 

Time of call: 0922

 

A crew from Summerbridge were mobilised to a single vehicle RTC where a car had left the road, on arrival crews found no persons injured or trapped and left the incident with the Police who were on scene.

 

 

 

Automatic Fire Alarm – Wiggington Road, York

 

Time of call: 1040

 

York attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential building, this was a false alarm caused by a misuse of call point.

 

 

 

Automatic Fire Alarm – Crescent Avenue, Whitby

 

Time of call: 1138

 

Whitby attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential building, this was a false alarm caused by dust from workmen.

 

 

 

Fire – Thornton-le-Dale, Pickering

 

Time of call 11.59

 

Pickering and Malton appliances attended a small fire to approx. 1sqm of roofing felt on the roof of a residential home. The fire was out on arrival and crews carried out an inspection only using a triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera. The fire caused smoke logging to part of the home and it is believed the fire was caused accidentally. 

 

 

 

Automatic Fire Alarm – Jubilee Terrace, York

 

Time of call: 1204

 

Acomb attended an automatic fire alarm at a educational building, this was a false alarm caused activation of a glass break point

 

 

 

Automatic Fire Alarm – Springfield Avenue, Harrogate

 

Time of call: 1214

 

A crew from Harrogate attended an automatic fire alarm at a hotel, this was a false alarm caused by steam from workmen.

 

 

 

Lift Rescue – Coney Street, York

 

Time of call 1410

 

Acomb attended a retail store on Coney Street where 6 people were stuck in a shop lift. Crews released those people stuck inside and gave advice to the store management.
