Incident summary – Day shift Monday 30th April

30th April 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Long Preston, Skipton - Time of Call 07:27

Fire crews from Bentham and Skipton responded to reports of a smell of burning inside a domestic property. Crews confirmed the smell of smoke was coming from a freezer due to an electrical fault. There was no fire.

Near Chelker Reservoir, Draughton - Time of call 08:51

Fire crews from North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire assisted Ambulance crews at a four vehicle road traffic collision. Amazingly no one was trapped. The crews administered first aid and made vehicle safe. Four casualties were transported to Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Fishergate, York  - Time of call 08:53

York fire crews responded to a smoke alarm activation at a public building. This was a false alarm caused by dust.

Springfield Avenue, Harrogate  - Time of call 10:03

Fire crew from Harrogate responded to a smoke alarm sounding at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm caused by dust.

Filey - Time of call 12:30

Filey crews assisted a lady stuck in a lift in a holiday apartment. Crews used lift keys to open doors.

Ripon Road, Harrogate - Time of call 13:54

Fire crews from Harrogate attended reports of a fire in a workshop.This turned out to be an overheated compressor belt mistaken for fire.

Masham - Time of call 14:13

Fire crews from Masham attended a smoke alarm sounding at a residential property. This was a flase alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Kings Road, Harrogate - Time of call 15:33

Harrogate fire crew attended a fire alarm sounding at a commercial property. This was a false alarm – maintenance personnel were testing the alarm.

Station Road, Thirsk - Time of call 16:18

Thirsk fire crews and Ripon Animal Rescue Team responded to a horse stuck in its horse box. Crews released horse by hand.
