Incident Summary - Day shift.Monday 29th August

A1 South of Scotch Corner

Fire crews from Richmond and Colburn responded to reports of a large goods vehicle that had broken down close to road works and caught fire. Crews confirmed  that the rear tyre of the vehicle had overheated, one hose reel was used to cool down the tyre.


Church Lane, Westow, Malton


Fire crews from Malton attended to a cow stuck in the river. The specialist Animal Rescue team used dedicated equipment to assist cow from river. This was a protracted incident and crews were tied up for over two hours. Cow was eventually rescued from river and reunited with Farmer.


A170, Middelton


Fire crews from Kirkbymoorside and Pickering attended a two vehicle road traffic collision at 13:53. No people were trapped in the vehicles, however minor injuries were incurred and crews assisted paramedics and Police at the scene.


In addition to these Incidents Crews attended several fire alarm activations, all of which were false alarms. .
