Incident Summary Saturday 2nd June Day Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Saturday 2nd Day Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Scalby: time – 12.43

Scarborough attended reports of a butane cylinder on fire in Scalby. On arrival crews found a small cylinder attached to a weed burning had malfunctioned and caught fire. The cylinder itself had burnt out prior to crews attending and the fire brigade carried out an inspection only.

 York: time – 13.45

Crews from York & Tadcaster attended reports of an oven fire in a flat in York. On arrival this turned out to be a false alarm caused by steam from a cooker. Inspection only carried out by the crews.

 Kirk Hammerton: time – 13.55

An appliance from Knaresborough attended an oil spill at a petrol station that has leaked onto the carriageway of the A59, crews assisted police and highways with clearing the spillage and made the carriageway safe for traffic.

High Bentham: time - 14.14

Whilst at a community event in High Bentham, the crew were approached by a female who had a ring stuck on her finger. Crews removed the ring using a ring cutter.

Scalby Road, Scarborough: time – 14.47

Scarborough attended a car fire on Scalby road. The crew used 2 hose reels to extinguish the fire and small tools to inspect. Crews also assisted with scene safety.

Richmond: time – 16.09

Richmond appliance were sent to reports of a smoke seen by a member of the public, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by a BBQ.

 

During the day shift we also attended a number of automatic fire alarms in Thornthwaite, York, Aiskew & Masham, these all turned out to be false alarms.
