Incident summary - Day shift Thursday 19th July

19th July 2018

Escrick

Time of call 09:11

Acomb crews responded to a stubble field on fire. Fire started when a farmer caught overhead cables whilst tipping from a trailer. Crews used beaters to extinguish fire.

Ripon

Time of call 10:16

Ripon and Boroughbridge crews responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped, one vehicle mounted a wall, and the driver had a suspected broken arm.

Whitby

Time of call 10:31

Fire crews from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay attended a hedge fire in a domestic garden. Fire was caused by careless use of a weed burner. Crews used one hose reel.

Little Crakehall

Time of call 10:49

Bedale and Richmond fire crew attended a field of cut corn well alight. A further two appliances from Northallerton and Masham were requested to assist. Cause of fire is believed to be a spark from farm machinery. Crews used three hose reel jets and beaters.

Richmond

Time of call 14:25

Fire crews from Richmond attended a two vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and a camper van. No persons were trapped or injured. Crew moved vehicle from the road using a winch

Heworth Green, York

Time of call 14:57

Fire crews from Acomb responded to a small grass fire in the open. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Crews used one hose reel and one breathing apparatus.

South Milford, Selby

Time of call 15:32

Fire crews from Selby and Tadcaster responded to reports of standing crops on fire a field. On arrival they requested further assistance from another appliance and a water bowser. Fire measured approximately 400m x 80m. Crews extinguished fire using three hose reel jets and beaters.
