Incident summary for Dayshift 9 September 2017

Huntington and Acomb firecrews responded to a kitchen fire in a domestic premises. Fire was due to a chip pan left unattended with the kitchen suffering fire damage and additional heat and smoke damage throughout the property.

A male aged 29 years had been led to safety on the crews arrival, where he was given oxygen therapy by firecrews before being taken to hospital by ambulance with smoke inhalation.

Crews used hose reels, ventilation fans and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

York firecrew responded to a fire alarm activation in a school – caused by a power supply problem.
