Night Shift Monday 18th December 2017

 Factory fire – Wigginton Road, York

Time of call: 1729 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. On arrival they discovered a small fire had occurred in a factory production room. The fire was out on arrival and resulted in slight damage to a small quantity of food product. The cause is believed to be a fault in the production process.

 False alarm – Bootham, York

Time of call: 1738 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 Chimney fire – Gallows Hills, Ripon

Time of call: 1847 hours

2 crews from Ripon have dealt with a chimney fire in a residential property. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot and crews used a roof ladder, triple extension ladder, thermal imaging camera, hearth kit and a hose adaptor to extinguish the fire.

 False alarm – Selby Road, Whitley

Time of call: 2126 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a vacant residential property. This was a false alarm due to the property power being disconnected whilst renovations are carried out.

 Bin fire – Off Oak Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2137 hours

A crew rom Scarborough has dealt with a bonfire in a park. The cause was deliberate by youths and the crew used buckets of water to extinguish it.

 Tuesday, 19th December

 False alarm – Skipton Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 0233 hours

A crew from Harrogate attended an alarm activation to a shop which was believed to be a faulty system as unable to gain access, external inspection carried out.

 False alarm – Thornburgh Road, Eastfield, Scarborough

Time of call: 0427 hours

A crew from Scarborough  attended an alarm activation to a commercial premises  which was believed to be a faulty system as unable to gain access, external inspection carried out.
