Location: Wooded area near Beckside Gardens, York

York firecrew used a hosereel to extinguish a fire comprising twigs within a wooded area.


 Time:    18:47

Location: Station Road, Tadcaster

Tadcaster fire personnel and Police set up a 200 metre safety cordon and awaited Bomb Disposal after a member of the public had brought to the Police & Fire stations,  a suspicious device from his neighbour’s garage, where it is believed it had been since 1957.

Bomb Disposal determined that the device was an inert hand grenade which they took away safely.

Location: Johno’s Field, Gildercliffe, Scarborough

Scarborough firecrews attended a fire comprising school books and an aerosol in the middle of Johno’s Field.

Backpack water sprayed used to dampen down fire, and names of the books previous owners, passed to other authorities for their attention.

Location: Training College, Easingwold.

Easingwold  firecrew attended a fire alarm activation which had activated due to insects in the detector.


June 23rd

Location: College, Thorpe Underwood

Boroughbridge  firecrew attended a fire alarm activation which had activated due to deodorant.

Time:    03:10

Location: Sandfield Terrace, Tadcaster

Tadcaster firecrew attended a report of a smell in the area of Sandfield Terrace near to the allotments, but after an extensive search, no sign of fire or smell of smoke found.
