Incident summary for Nightshift 24 October 2018

24th October 2018

TOC: 19:01 Strensall

Crews from Huntington were called to reports of trees on fire. On arrival they discovered it was someone having a controlled burn in their garden. No action taken by crews.

TOC: 19:50    Settle

Crews from Settle and Bentham were mobilised to a fire in a property. On arrival crews discovered what had been a small fire in a bedroom involving a mattress and duvet only. The cause of the fire was believed to be candles left unattended.

TOC: 22:19 Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough were mobilised to a small fire in a rear alley. On arrival they found a rubbish fire which they extinguished using buckets of water. The cause of the fire was deliberate. 

TOC: 01:02 York

Crews from Acomb attended a wheelie bin on fire. The fire was out on arrival and inspected only by crews. The cause was believed deliberate.

TOC: 02:55 River Foss, York

Multiple York fire brigade resources mobilised following a report of a male in the River Foss following a call from Ambulance. And, all stood down again minutes later following a subsequent report stating that the male was out of the river.

 

Crews from Richmond, Skipton, Masham, York  & Malton have all attended automatic fire alarms throughout the night.
