Coney Street, York Time of call: 18:14

A crew from York have attended an automatic fire alarm. This was caused due to a fault on the system.

Moor Road, Melsonby Time of call: 18:58

A crew from Richmond have attended an automatic fire alarm. This was caused due to a fault on the system.

Sutton Lane, Byram Time of call: 19:03

A crew from Selby and Pontefract have extinguished a metal container full of cabling. Crews used 2 45mm jets.

Acomb Road, York Time of call: 19:15

A crew from Acomb have attended an automatic fire alarm. This was caused due to dust.

West Lane, Burn Time of call: 19:45

A crew from Selby have attended a small fire next to the canal. This was controlled burning and crews gave advice.

B1353, Stillington Time of call: 19:46

A crew from Easingwold have attended reports of a heavy goods vehicle carrying potatoes that had over turned into a ditch. Crews made vehicle and area safe with Police while both awaited arrival of recovery vehicle.

A61 Harewood Time of call: 20:07

A crew from Selby have attended a small fire next to the A61. This was controlled burning and crews gave advice.

Cavendish Street, Skipton Time of call: 20:10

A crew from Skipton have attended an automatic fire alarm, which was a false alarm.This was believed to be caused due to a fault on the system.

Finkle Street, Malham Time of call: 22:55

 A crew from Settle have attended an automatic fire alarm. This was believed to be caused due to a fault on the system.

 3rd NOVEMBER

 Cold Bath Road, Harrogate Time of call: 00:31

 A crew from Harrogate have attended an automatic fire alarm. This was caused due to a fault on the system.

 Acomb Road, York Time of call: 01:12

 A crew from Acomb have attended a fire alarm activation in residential premises due to a system fault.

Percys Lane, York Time of call: 03:43

 A crew from York have attended an automatic fire alarm to student accommodation caused by steam from shower.

Penleys Grove Street, York Time of call: 04:46

 A crew from York responded to a motor scooter deliberately set alight. Extinguished by hosereel.

 Eastern Terrace, York Time of call: 05:15

 Crews from York, Acomb and Huntington responded to a flat fire. One person was removed from the flat by fire crews and passed to paramedics at the scene.

Update from North Yorkshire Police

 

Police were called to reports of a flat fire in York at around 5.20am this morning (Friday, 3 November 2017). Firefighters and ambulance crews also attended the address, in Eastern Terrace, and treated a man at the scene.

 

Sadly, the man, who is believed to be in his 40s. was pronounced dead at 5.50am today. His family has been informed.

 

Following investigations by detectives and the fire service, the fire is not believed to have been started deliberately and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

 Thirsk, Ripon and Northallerton fire appliances responded to a LGV which had left the carriageway trapping the driver, who was released unharmed by firecrews using hydraulic cutting equipment
