Incident Summary - Day shift Friday 13

13th April 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

 

Flat fire – off Thanet Road, York

Time of call: 0720 hours

Crews from Acomb and York have dealt with a fire in the kitchen of a ground floor flat. Fire damage was confined to a tea towel and washing machine whilst the flat suffered slight smoke damage. The cause is believed to be accidental and crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, ventilation fan and thermal imaging camera.

 

False alarm – Beulah Terrace, Scarborough

Time of call: 1009 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

 

Road traffic collision – Columbus Ravine, Scarborough

Time of call: 1019 hours

Crews from Scarborough have dealt with a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a Citroen which appears to have hit a Peugeot then overturned. Male occupant of Citroen (80’s) was trapped in the vehicle. Released by fire crews and taken to hospital with minor neck and head injuries. Male occupant of Peugeot assisted from vehicle by paramedics but uninjured. Crew used hydraulic cutters, spreader, airbags and small tools.

 

False alarm – Lancaster Park Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1056 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an aerosol.

 

False alarm – Belgrave Crescent, Scarborough

Time of call: 1320 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

 

Rescue – Brunswick Crescent, Sherburn in Elmet

Time of call: 1444 hours

A crew from Tadcaster has rescued a young girl after she became locked in a car. Crew used small tools to break a window, unlock car and girl was released unharmed.

 

Effect entry – Birch Close, Huntington

Time of call: 1632 hours

A crew from Huntington has ben called to reports of a person locked out of their home, having left the oven on. Access was gained prior to our attendance. No action by crew.

 

False alarm – Herdsman Road, York

Time of call: 1652 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to burnt food.

 

False alarm – Hawthorn Close, Malton

Time of call: 1701 hours

A crew from Malton has investigated reports of a fire in the garden of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.
