Please see below a round up of incidents from Monday 10th September Day Shift

St Marygate, Ripon – Time of call: 10.11

Ripon appliance attended reports of a car fire, this turned out to be smoke issuing from under a car bonnet caused by oil smoking on the engine block. Crews cooled the engine using 1 hose reel jet and carried out an inspection of the vehicle using a thermal imaging camera.

Dunnington, York – Time of call: 12.18

Crews from York and Huntington attended a microwave fire at a residential address. The fire was out on arrival and crews carried out an inspection only. An elderly female casualty was taken to hospital by the ambulance service suffering from smoke inhalation.

Harrogate Road, Leathley – Time of call: 12.58

2 x appliances from Harrogate along with an incident support unit from Tadcaster attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision between a Vauxhall Vivaro van and a Mercedes Sprinter van. 2 male casualties, 1 from each van were extricated from the vehicles by the fire brigade using hydraulic cutting equipment. Both casualties were taken to hospital, one via air ambulance with a broken femur, the other via road ambulance with unknown injuries.

Westbourne Road, Scarborough – Time of call: 13.51    

Scarborough appliance attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential address. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by a fault on system.

Richmond Fire Station, Richmond – Time of call: 15.53

A female in her 40s attended the station for a ring to be removed from her finger. Crews used a ring cutter for this.
