Incident Summary Day Shift Monday 21st May 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

York – time 07.29

Acomb & York crews attended a fire in a washing machine within a domestic property. This was believed to be caused by an electrical fault. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and a positive pressure fan to ventilate the property.

Ripon – time 08.43

Ripon appliance was sent to reports of a shed on fire in a garden. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by controlled burning, no action taken by the fire brigade.

Goathland – time 11.45

Crews from Goathland, Whitby and Lythe were sent to a fire in an industrial kitchen. The fire was out on arrival of the fire service. A thermal imaging camera, lighting was used to investigate and a positive pressure fan was used to ventilate the property.

York – time 16.29

An appliance from Acomb station was sent to an automatic fire alarm at a day nursery. This was a false alarm caused by a system fault.
