Round up of incidents for – Night Shift Tuesday  5th April

Dower Court, William Plows Ave, York

Fire crews from York and Acomb attended a fire alarm activation at a domestic premises in Dower Court. The crews investigated and confirmed there to be no fire. The alarm is believed to have been activated by fumes from an aerosol.

Whitby Road, Pickering

Fire crews from Pickering and an officer attended a fire involving an agricultural forklift truck. The fire was extinguished by the crew using 1 hose reel and breathing apparatus.

The fire is believed to have started due to an overheated engine

High Garth, Eastfield, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended reports of a kitchen fire in a domestic premises.  Upon crews arrival, it was established that the fumes were being caused by overheated plastic utensils which had been left in oven compartment. Fire crews were able to remove the plastics and ventilate the property. The fire crew gave a thorough check of the property with a thermal imaging camera to ensure it was safe for the occupants. 

 Ripon Road, Harrogate

Fire crews from Harrogate attended a fire at a commercial premises in Ripon Road. An external terrace heater had ignited. Crews isolated the gas supply and extinguished the fire using a hose reel. The fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty heater.

Westgate Carr Road, Pickering

Fire crews from Pickering attended Westgate Carr Road area to reports of a fire in the open. Fire crews investigated the reports and established the reports to be smoke issuing from a factory that was burning off. No further action required.
