Incident Summary – Night Shift – Saturday 10th November

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

 

 

 

 

Lift Rescue – Esplanade, Scarborough

 

Time of call: 1758

 

A crew from Scarborough released 5 people who were stuck in a hotel lift. Crews gained access to lift room and isolated the power using lift keys.

 

 

 

Fire in playpark – Monkton Road, York

 

Time of call: 1801

 

York attended a swing on fire in a children’s playpark. Crews used 1 hose reel to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

 

 

 

Fencing on fire – Bagdale, Whitby

 

Time of call: 1932

 

Whitby attended a fire involving plastic fencing measuring  1 sqm. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was accidental due to a dropped light. 

 

 

 

Unconscious Casualty – Rougier Steet, York

 

Time of call: 2033

 

York crew came across an unconscious 31 year old male casualty in the street, crews administered first aid and oxygen therapy until the arrival of paramedics.

 

 

 

False alarm - Stammergate, Thirsk

 

Time of call: 2151

 

Crews from Thirsk responded to reports of a garage on fire behind a row of residential properties. On arrival crews found this to be a false alarm and was caused due to a neighbouring fireworks display being mistaken for a fire.

 

 

 

Automatic fire alarm - Westborough, Scarborough

 

Time of call: 22:53

 

Crews from Scarborough have responded to an automatic fire alarm. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the sytem.

 

 

 

Car fire - A687, Thornton in Lonsdale

 

Time of call: 2301

 

A crew from Bentham have responded to a car fire on the A687. On arrival crews found smoke issuing from the vehicle and began to dampen down. On investigation the crew believed this to be caused due to faulty wiring causing only 5% fire damage to the vehicle. Crews inspected the vehicle for further hotspots using a thermal imaging camera. 

 

 

 

Automatic Fire Alarm – Stockwell Lane, Knaresborough

 

Time of call: 0514

 

Knaresborough attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential premises, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by cigarette smoke.

 

 

 

Fire close to Pub – Linton Green Road, Linton

 

Time of call: 0603

 

Grassington and Skipton attended a fire in a waste bin close to the rear of a pub **INCIDENT ONGOING **
