Incident Summary - Night Shift 10th August

11th August 2016

Near to York Racecourse, Knavesmire Road, York

Fire crew from York attended reports of smoke sighted near the Racecourse at approximately 18:48. On arrival crews discovered a small fire in the open and extinguished using a bucket of water.

Boroughbridge Road, Knaresborough

Fire crew from Knaresborough attended reports of a garden fire at approx. 21:08. The fire was under supervision, but however was extinguished by crews due to size of fire. Crews used one hose reel.

Meadow Dene, East Ayton, Scarborough

Fire crew from Scarborough attended to a summer house that had caught fire in a garden. This incident occurred at 21:09. Fire was caused by embers from an earlier small garden fire. Crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish fire.  

In addition to this Crews from Colburn, York and Skipton attended alarm activations at various premises, which were all false alarms.
