Incident Summary - Night shift June 2nd

2nd June 2016

Travel Long Meadows, Rillington.

At 20:17 fire crews from Malton attended reports of a chimney fire, which was caused by accumulation of soot. Fire was put out using one hose reel jet and chimney kit.

Shell Garage, Hull Road, York

At 20:39 fire crews from York and an Fire Officer attended to reports of a diesel leak, however this involved some contractors digging a hole which then caused a small amount if diesel to leak into hole. The Environment Agency was informed and advice was given to the contractors. No further action by the Fire Service was required.

Fairfield Road, Tadcaster

At 22:25 Fire crews from Tadcaster attended to water leak inside a domestic property. Water was entering property through internal plumbing failure. Fire crews isolated water and electricity using electrical gloves and a wooden spoon.

Selby Common, Selby

At 23:06 Selby Fire Service attended reports of a road traffic collision with people trapped. On arrival however, no people were trapped or injured and crews made vehicle safe.

Fox Lane, Hambleton, Selby

At 00:22 Fire crews from Selby attended a caravan fire. Caravan was disused and fire was caused deliberately. Crews put out the fire using one hose reel jet.

 

***In addition to these incidents there were several automatic fire alarm activations that were attended to. All of these were false alarms.
