Incident Summary - Night Shift Monday 1st August

2nd August 2016

Albert Street, York.

At 19:35 Fire crews from York attended reports of a car fire, this turned out to be a false alarm, the engine had become hot and created steam which was mistaken for fire.

Spital Bridge, Whitby

Fire crews from Whitby attended reports of a car fire at 20:22. Crews extinguished fire involving a Peugeot 206. Cause of fire is believed to be deliberate.

Hotel, St Nicholas Cliff, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended to two people stuck in a lift in a hotel lobby. This was at 23:52 and the crews successfully released the lift and the two occupants were unharmed and continued with their holiday.


In addition NYFRS also attended several automatic fire alarms – all of which were false alarms.
