Incident summary - Night shift Monday 5th March

6th March 2018

Eastgate, Pickering

Time of call 18:28

Fire crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside attended a fire at commercial premises. The cause of fire was hot embers in wooden timber beams. Crews used axes to cut out the hot timber and doused the beams in water. Fire damage only to the beams.

Wetherby Road, Harrogate

Time of call 19:06

Harrogate crews attended a fire alarm activation at a residential premises. This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Moor Lane, Newby, Scarborough

Time of call 19:50

Scarborough fire crews attended a burst water main that caused water to flood into premises. Crew diverted the water supply until Yorkshire Water managed to isolate the water supply.

Cavendish  Street, Skipton

Skipton fire crews responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm.

Barrel Sykes, Settle

Time of call 20:09

Fire crew from Settle assisted Ambulance crew with a male casualty who had collapsed. Male was given CPR and then transported to Hospital by Ambulance.

West Road, Filey

Filey fire crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation at a domestic property. This was a false alarm.

Crombie Avenue, York

Acomb Fire crews attended a fire alarm activation at a residential home. This was a false alarm.

Woodland Avenue, Scarborough

Scarborough fire crew attended a fire alarm activation sounding at a residential premises. This was a false alarm.

Fire crew from Knaresborough were mobilised to assist a Mercedes that had aquaplaned on spun out of control. No people were trapped or injured and crew made vehicle safe.

Richmond, Colburn and Darlington appliances attended a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Mercedes. One female was trapped and crews released her from the car using hydraulic cutting equipment. Female was suffering frim back and neck injuries and was taken to Hospital.

York fire crew attended an automatic fire alarm sounding at sleeping accommodation, this was a false alarm

Scarborough fire crew responded to an automatic smoke alarm activation at a hotel. This was a false alarm
