Incident Summary - Night Shift Saturday 12th August

13th August 2017

Near Bolton Priory, Skipton

Time of call 19:04

Fire crew from Skipton and the Incident support Unit from Ripon assisted a dog and a male stranded at the base of a 50ft steep embankment. The dog called Shep had run down the river chasing ducks and was deterred from returning to the swift current of the river. A male aged mid thirties attempted to rescue Shep but then became trapped himself. The situation was happily resolved by fire crews using a rope pack to winch Shep and his rescuer to safety.

Ripon fire crews attended a fire involving a disused fridge in a garden, fire spread to a gazebo. Cause of fire is unknown at this time. Crews extinguished using a hose reel.


In addition to the above Fire Service attended several Automatic fire alarms – all of which were false alarms.
