Incident Summary - Night Shift 13th May

14th May 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Thornton-le-Dale, Pickering

Automatic fire alarm – a crew from Pickering carried out investigation but cause unknown.


Van fire – fire in engine compartment, Skipton crew attended and extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets.

Newby, Scarborough

Fire involving washing machine with minor fire damage to electrical wiring. Fire was out on arrival and crews isolated washing machine and fitted smoke alarms in the property.


2 vehicle road traffic collision, no persons trapped or injured. Malton crews disconnected car battery and carried out scene safety.


Scarborough crews attended reports of fire in open, but on investigation confirmed this was controlled burning under supervision, advice given.


Skipton crew were mobilised to reports of a car fire, on arrival crews liaised with owner of car who had extinguished the small fire in engine using bottles of water. Fire brigade carried out an inspection of the affected engine compartment.


Fire involving clothing inside a residential property. Fire was out on arrival as extinguished by occupier using bucket of water. Crews gave advice to occupier.


Automatic fire alarm – Harrogate crew attended and confirmed this was caused by a system fault.
